Image Prevalence

Image Prevalence by Joemell Dalit VPA-380

1. Why do you think the reproduction of image is so prevalent in the world today?

The reproduction of certain images provides a sense of nostalgia and a way for the audience to have their opinion on a replicated piece of art. In all cases, the given audience can connect with the duplicated image with their own point of view. Giving way to new ideas, judgments, and attitudes that previous generations have failed to conjure up.

2. What do you think this prevalence bodes for the future of graphic design and your place in it?

This type of prevalence can create new styles that blend with the previous design element used in prior methods. It is not only a remake of things to come, but a definite improvement over the traditional methods that were otherwise, presumed to be ineffective. By allowing the reproduction of certain images being used in graphic design, an artist can blend the past with the present, only to create better dynamics for the future.

3. Why do you think the John McCain drive for the presidency failed to use the Internet (or failed to use it effectively) as a means of communication with voters?

With McCain’s preferred voter group, he probably assumed that a large majority of them rarely frequented the Internet as a medium for communication. Therefore, he invested more time with the traditional methods of campaigning, by means of billboards, newspapers, commercials, and political propaganda posters etc. Where as Obama, realized the vast potential of using the Internet as a means of communication, especially with the young voter age group. Thus, making him seem as the new and progressive form of presidency, using internet social networks such as Facebook and Myspace as a means to get his political messages across.
